According to reports, a woman who has not yet been named left her one-month-old son in a bus in Anambra State.
The kid was abandoned since September 6 and is currently in the care of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), which made this announcement on Tuesday.

The corps asked the public for help in finding the child’s mother after showing journalists a photo of the infant.

In a statement, NSCDC’s Anambra State Public Relations Officer Edwin Okadigbo said:

“We are asking the public for help in finding the mother, parents, or other family members of a baby boy, estimated to be around one month old, who was found by corps personnel after being abandoned by his mother in a bus.

On September 6, 2022, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the infant was given to a corps member after the mother, who had boarded the same bus, got off at a bus stop in an attempt to make her way along Ziks Avenue by Amawbia Correctional Service Awka.

“The Intelligence and Investigation Department is urged to be contacted by anyone who knows of a woman or parents who recently gave birth but are unexpectedly without the child, or who knows relatives of the infant.”

According to Okadigbo, the bus looked for the mother for around three hours after the mother abandoned the child, but it was eventually found that the deed was premeditated.
