The Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, and Mali were subject to a number of economic sanctions that have been repealed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The targeted and political sanctions, according to the regional bloc, are still in place.

This choice was made on Saturday in Abuja during the Extraordinary Summit on the Political, Security, and Peace Situations in the ECOWAS Subregion.

ECOWAS stated that it will keep up talks and negotiations over Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger’s determination to exit the organization.

Earlier, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea were the targets of economic sanctions imposed by ECOWAS, which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had requested for to be lifted.
