According to Operation Forest Sanity, two bandits in Kaduna State were ambushed and neutralized by its agents on Tuesday.

In a statement released in Kaduna, Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 1st Division of the Nigerian Army, verified the occurrence.

Yahaya reported that troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army’s Operation Forest Sanity ambushed and killed two bandit leaders after receiving a tip from a human intelligence source. They also took weapons, ammo, and other equipment.

He claimed that prior intelligence reports had shown that a bandit leader by the name of Isiya Danwasa planned to send his errand boy Yunusa to Kaduna town to get some weapons and ammo.

The messenger boy was then followed and apprehended by plainclothesmen, and he was subsequently employed to entice two of the bandits’ leaders to a designated ammo gathering location.

“The criminals were neutralized by the troops who had laid an ambush and engaged them with superior firepower upon their arrival.”

He stated.

One motorcycle, two AK-47 weapons, six AK-47 magazines, 250 rounds of 7.62 mm special, a power bank, two charm vests, and N200,000 were among the items he claimed were retrieved from the bandits.

“The troops have been complimented for their professional conduct and flawless mission execution by Maj-Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, the Force Commander of the Joint mission Force Operation Whirl Punch and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 1 Division Nigerian Army.

He also urged the soldiers to proceed after all.
