Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that his administration will work with neighborhood canteens to provide food for 1,000–1,500 people every day in each of the state’s local government districts.

Sanwo-Olu stated that his administration is already identifying the caterers and that the people would be fed for at least two months at a media session on Thursday.

The governor added that the action is a component of efforts to lessen the effects of the nation’s economic suffering and the growing expense of living.

“The third level will be that we will not be doing what we refer to as the soup kitchen or soup bowl,” he stated. We also carried it out in COVID-19.

“We’re looking for Mama Put and the caterers. In the first place, we aim to be able to feed 1,000–1,500 people per day in each local government over the following 30–60 days.

So let’s keep an eye on the details. We are already identifying the caterers, as you may know. Money will be transferred to them, and they will have vouchers to prove that anyone may simply go in and give them food once a day. Let’s just keep doing that.
