Residents in South-West Nigeria’s Oyo state took to the streets on Monday to protest against the country’s current economic hardship, rising costs of living, and food inflation.

The Oyo protest followed those in Kano and Minna against the destitution brought on by the elimination of fuel subsidies, food inflation, and exorbitant living expenses.

Alabareports discovered that the demonstration took place in the state capital of Ibadan, in the Mokola neighborhood. The young people were using music and numerous signs to make their concerns.

Among the statements on several placards are “Tinubu, don’t forget your promises,” “End food hike and inflation,” and “The poor are starving.”

Even while protestors conducted the nonviolent demonstration, Channels Television reported that armed police officers were also spotted at the protest site.

Alabareports learned that the protest was held in the Mokola district of Ibadan, the state capital. The youth expressed their worries with music and various signs.

Some posters read, “Tinubu, don’t forget your promises,” “End food hike and inflation,” and “The poor are starving.”

Channels Television said that armed police officers were seen at the protest site even as demonstrators carried out their nonviolent protest.

But he underlined how important it is for the media to help accomplish this, urging cooperation and a common dedication to the advancement of the country.
