Reporting!! Kaduna Police Rescue 29 Victims Of Human Trafficking From Southern Part Of Nigeria To Libya, Turkey And Algeria

The Katsina State Police Command has successfully recovered 29 victims who were trafficked in people.
In a statement released on Wednesday, December 16, the command’s spokeswoman, SP Isah Gambo, verified the incident and stated that the victims were stopped in Unguwar Jummai village in Mai’addua Local Government Area of the state while their route from the southern region of Nigeria to Libya, Algeria, and Turkey.

“On 11/12/2020 at around 23:00 hours, the Command was able to free twenty-nine (29) individuals, including two (2) children, five (5) men, and twenty-three (22) women who were all victims of human trafficking on route from the southern region of Nigeria to Libya, Algeria, and Turkey, respectively. At Unguwar Jummai village in Mai’addua LGA, Katsina state, victims were apprehended.

Isah clarified that there were ongoing investigations with the goal of apprehending the traffickers.

Those rescued are listed by name below:

1. Samiyat Adekunle, ‘F,’ of Akure, Ondo state, is 19 years old.

2. Mopelola Akinpelu, ‘F’, of Temioluwa, Ondo state, is 19 years old.

4. Motunrayo Oluyede, ‘F, of Akinseye, Ondo state, is 19 years old.

5. Ogonna Blessing, Igushin, Ondo state, 20 years old, “F.”

6. Fatima Oluwaishemu, ‘F,’ of Ilesha, Osun state, is 38 years old.

7. Rashidat Fadeyi, ‘F, of Abeokuta, Ogun state, is 25 years old.

8. Karimat Fadeyi, ‘F, of the same residence, who is 16 months old.

9. Zainab Yekini, ‘F,’ of Iyanofa, Oyo state, is 25 years old.

10. Yekeni Bolanle,’m, from Iyanofa, Oyo state, is 46 years old.

11. Rukayat Yekeni, ‘F, of the same residence, sixteen years of age.

12. Ibrahim Ibrahim,’m, from Ibadan, Oyo State, is 20 years old.

13. Okunlola Tunde,’m, from Ibadan, Oyo state, is 20 years old.

14. Salihu Muheen, ‘M,’ of Osogbo, Osun state, is twenty years old.

15. Sakinat Musa, a f. from Ado-Ekiti, Ekiri state, who is 43 years old.

16. Zainab Musa, f., of the same residence, who is 19 years old.

17. Elizabeth Samson, f., of Kwale Umusagiye, Delta State; 29 years old.

18. Ketu, Lagos resident Kudirat Kukoyi, a female, aged 22.

19. Rukayat Razak, a 22-year-old from Kwara state’s Illorin.

20. Kafayat Latif, f., Ogun state; 19 years old; Ijebu-Ode

21. Rukayat Latif, f., of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state; 22 years old

22. The same woman, Sherifat Abdulatif, f, is 41 years old.
