The Nigerian Labour Congress shifted its demonstration to the National Assembly in Abuja on Wednesday.
Security had been stepped up, with aggressive-looking security personnel stationed across the complex, before the Labour Union arrived at the Legislative Houses.

There was a great deal of foot and vehicle traffic, making it challenging for drivers to enter the complex.

A few minutes after the NLC arrived in the compound, the Senate sessions—which had already begun at approximately 11:00 with the opening prayer by Senate President Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan—went into a closed-door session.

Mr. Ayuba Wabba, the National President, spearheaded the demonstration on Wednesday.

The students’ leadership is also a component of the demonstration on Wednesday. The National Youth Council leadership, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) are among the other organizations in attendance.

The NLC, which identifies with ASUU, is recalling that it is “demanding for replacement of the inconsistent IPPIS with U3PA payment platform; respect/honour collective bargaining agreement that was freely and mutually reached with ASUU,” among other things, even though the leadership of the National Assembly had not yet addressed the demonstrators at the time this report was filed.
