As the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has revealed that desperate ad hoc staff conspire with people to “plan armed robbery attack” in order to access its questions, the problem of examination malpractices in Nigeria appears to have taken on a new dimension.
Speaking to reporters at the Akanu-Ibiam International Airport in Enugu on Wednesday, Prof. Oloyede made this statement following a geopolitical tour of the South East to observe the ongoing JAMB exam.

He claimed that some “people still think they are clever” and may exploit the situation in spite of the JAMB’s planned steps to stop exam cheaters.

He clarified that there were some differences between the prevalent major examination misconduct in the northern and southern regions of Nigeria.

People will thus arrange, either with the help of our ad hoc or full staff, and claim, “I was robbed, so my saver was stolen, or my saver was replaced with plan by an unknown person.”

We are stating that we will crush anyone who stands in the way of us carrying out our duties.
