In an effort to clear the Lagos-Ibadan expressway of criminal activity, the police departments of Lagos and Ogun State have started conducting combined patrols from the Kara Bridge to Sagamu Interchange.

The Nigerian Police Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the news in a post on his official X account. He explained that the patrol team will mostly consist of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
He went on to tell drivers not to panic when they see more police officers on the road, stating that this is a proactive move to reduce crime and criminal activity.

Adejobi stated, “The Lagos State Police Command and its Ogun State counterpart have begun joint patrols of Kara Bridge to improve security on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.”

In order to guarantee compliance, the force would educate ICT analysts and enforcement officers across the nation, according to a statement made by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to Adejobi, the proposed tinted glass permit will have special features to increase security and the efficacy of enforcement.

Furthermore, on February 29, 2024, training for ICT analysts and enforcement officers around the country is scheduled to occur prior to the start of tinted glass permit issuance.
