A shelter for victims of domestic abuse has been established by the Lagos State Government through its Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency.
The agency’s spokesperson, Joke Ladenegan-Oginni, made this revelation in a statement on Sunday.

The Open-haven, a 30-bed facility, was constructed to offer urgent refuge services to high-risk survivors of domestic violence, according to Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, the Executive Secretary of the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, who spoke during the shelter’s launch in Ikotodu.

With the assistance of our caring staff, who will provide in-house psychosocial support, empowerment activities, and personal and legal advocacy, survivors can confront their trauma and receive comprehensive support.

“The shelter is housed in a private setting with gated access and on-site security measures.”

She encouraged victims and survivors of domestic abuse to get in touch with the DSVA by calling 08000 333 333 or by visiting their office at Nobel House, Plot A, Otunba Jobi Fele Way, Central Business District. She gave them the reassurance that they are not alone and that assistance is available. Alausa.
