N126.5 billion has been set aside by President Bola Tinubu to build 100,000 homes across the country over the next 18 months.

This was announced on Thursday during the groundbreaking ceremony for 3,112 housing units in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)’s Karsana neighborhood by Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

According to Dangiwa, the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development’s financial allotment, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), and public-private partnerships with respectable developers will provide a variety of sponsors for the projects.

The minister added that the federal government would start groundbreaking on 6,000 new homes in the first quarter of this year.
