As of the time this story was filed, Arogbofa was said to have passed away on Saturday, February 10. However, the circumstances surrounding his passing are still unknown.

However, on Saturday, Ben Murray-Bruce, a former senator and the creator of Silverbird Group, verified the news via X, writing, “I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Brigadier General Jones Oladeinde Arogbofa (Rtd), the former Chief of Staff to former President Goodluck Jonathan.”

He was a close companion. His integrity, intellect, and commitment to Nigeria will always be cherished. We have lost a great hero, yet his legacy lives on. Peace be with you, my dear friend.

Arogbofa had enlisted in the military prior to being named as Jonathan’s right-hand man from 2014-2015.
