Isa Dei-Dei, a renowned bandit, was slain in Abuja by Nigeria Police Force agents.
The operation was executed by the police assigned to the Intelligence Response’s Department of Force Intelligence.
They broke into a bandit group’s hiding place in a Federal Capital Territory area.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force’s public relations officer, revealed the development in a statement on Wednesday.
Adejobi said that although Dei-Dei was the only gang member to be neutralized, several other gang members who managed to flee were also shot during the gunfight and suffered bullet wounds.
“Operations of the DFI-IRT, acting on intelligence, got information on the hideout of a notorious bandit group led by one Isa Dei-Dei, in the suburb of the FCT, at about 10:15 am on February 5, 2024,” the statement stated. “They immediately proceeded to the location for possible arrests.”
