The Labour Party (LP) has labeled the demand for Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, to resign from office made by state chairmen of the party, as persistent propaganda.

The Labour Party warned in a statement on Monday that the public should ignore the call since touts were gathered and labeled state chairmen by Abayomi Arabambi, the party’s former national publicity secretary, and his dissident group.

This demand is in response to severe accusations that he misappropriated campaign funds that have been made public.

This demand was announced by the state chairmen at a news conference in Abuja, with Plateau State’s Solomon Ndem serving as their leader.

The dispute started when Oluchi Opara, the national treasurer of the LP, charged Abure with embezzling a significant amount of N3.5 billion that was allegedly obtained from the sale of nomination forms and other activities during the general elections of 2023.
