Why I love Asake – South African singer, Tyla

musician Tyla Laura Seethal, better known by her stage name Tyla, from South Africa, has shared her admiration for Nigerian musician Asake.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Tyla discussed the inspiration behind her viral hit song “Water,” expressing her admiration for Asake’s usage of his “choir vocals.”
She claimed that the Amapiano from her own country, her early R&B influences, and Nigeria’s Afrobeats served as the inspiration for her song “Water.”

“I think the piano music is the essence of it [‘Water,'” she remarked. Along with all of the inspirations from my childhood, including pop girls, R&B boys, and Rihanna. I adore incorporating those kinds of inspirations into my songs.
