Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has pledged to reimburse musician Mayorkun for his misplaced goods in Calabar.
that Mayorkun, one of the performers invited to take part in the Calabar Carnival in 2023, stated he had misplaced jewelry valued at millions of naira.
The artist promised not to perform in Calabar again, expressing his displeasure in a post on social media.
A few hours later, musician Iyanya declared that one of Mayorkun’s stolen diamond chains had been found.
But Mayorkun disclosed in a follow-up post on his official X that he just met with Governor Otu, who promised to reimburse him for the goods he misplaced in Calabar.
“Just met with H.E. Prince, the governor of Cross River State,” he wrote.Otu, Bassey. He reassured me that the people of Calabar are still quite friendly and emphasized that I will receive payment for any stolen belongings.
Many thanks, sir. I’m still trying to find my pendant. For many reasons, it’s quite special to me,” he continued.
