Oyebanji Assures Investors Of Enabling Environment In Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has assured investors that his government would continue to create conducive environment for businesses to thrive in the state saying a society can only grow in an environment that allows for productivity.

Also, in his avowed move to boost the economy of the state, the Governor said his government would soon label Gossy Water as the official drink of the state that must be served at all state’s functions in and outside the Ekiti State.

Oyebanji stated these on Tuesday while playing host to the management of Gossy Warm Springs in his office. He assured the people of the state and investors that his administration had also set in motion aggressive rehabilitation of all roads in the state for easy accessibility and boost economic activities.

The Governor also assured investors that his government was also making efforts to ensure effective and efficient electricity supply in the state especially linking the company to the national grid.

The Governor urged the company to diversify its businesses in the state especially in the area of agriculture in order to further boost the economy of the state and make Ekiti residents prosper.

He also stressed the need for them to expand their distribution network to make the water available all over the country, describing the bottled water as the best in the country.

“What your company is doing is in line with our manifesto of wealth creation and industrialization. The society can only grow if there is productivity, I belong to the school of thought that believes that what will lead to prosperity is not FAAC collectible from Abuja, I believe that if there are opportunities for productivity, then there will be exchange of values and there will be wealth creation.

“I have also done my research, I know that you are heavy in agriculture, so, its my interest for us to work together. I just want you to tell your management that we are open to business and we are ready to create the enabling environment for business to thrive that you will make profits and our people will also prosper.

“We would soon award the roads, if you go to Igbara-Odo now, you will see that the bad portion to Igbara-Odo is being done. We are also awarding the road from Ikere to Ikogosi.

“I have told them two weeks ago when I was in Lagos that in the Governor’s lodges in Lagos and Abuja, they must have Gossy water, they have to buy from Ekiti and take there and in Government House, we label it as official drink of government.

Earlier, the Director of Gossy Warm Springs Limited, Mrs Olayinka Abegunde stated that the company started production effectively from 2019 with a staff strength of 250 and 10 million litres of water annually. She added that it planned to increase volume of water produced to 20million litres and increase the workforce to 500 from the middle of the year.

She said the company would continue to collaborate with government in all spheres of endeavour that would bring remarkable development to the state.

Present at the meeting were the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Habibat Adubiaro, Special Adviser on Trade and Investment; Special Adviser of Trade, Investment and Innovation, Mrs Tayo Adeola and Special Adviser on Agriculture and Food Security, Mr Ebenezer Boluwade.
