Three suspected burglars, Mohammed Auwal Abdulsamiu (24), Abdulraheem Abdulsamiu (16), and Abdullahi Usman (17), have been detained by the Niger State Police Command. They are accused of stealing seven wall fans from a mosque in Minna.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Wsiu Abiodun, claims that the suspects have a history of breaking into local homes and places of worship and taking expensive goods.

When they were on a routine patrol through the Minna neighborhood of Dutsen-Kura/Shanu village, the Anti-kidnapping Unit patrol team captured them.
Seven wall fans were found hidden in the two sacks that the suspects were carrying when they were apprehended carrying what appeared to be stolen goods.
The suspects admitted after questioning that on January 22, 2024, they broke into a Juma’at Mosque in the Dutsen-Kura/Kwasau area and stole the things. The stolen products were going to be sold in Kasuwa-Gwari.

Subsequent inquiry showed that the suspects were known for breaking into homes and committing burglaries in the neighborhood. They are facing charges and will be prosecuted in court.
