Actor Yul Edochie of Nollywood has attacked some movie producers and directors for selecting up-and-coming performers more on the basis of emotion than talent.Speaking on Saturday at the Kogi Blazing Mic Talent Hunt in Lokoja, which was arranged by Majesty International Academy in association with Black Wall Street, Edochie voiced his worries about the trend.
According to Edochie, some producers deceive performers who don’t perform well by withholding candid criticism.
He highlighted the value of honesty in developing creativity, sharing a personal story of being rejected in 2005 but using it as fuel to go better.
According to Edochie, “some Nollywood producers and filmmakers have failed to be honest with upcoming talents, which is why we lack exceptional actors today.”
“In my art, I insist on being sincere. I was discouraged and faced rejection in the past.but I put in a lot of effort to get to where I am now. New actors should make an investment in their own
