Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has expressed her displeasure with the lack of women in leadership roles in Nigeria, particularly in the political sphere. According to the legendary thespian, women led the way in Nigeria prior to independence but have since lost that position. By now, Nigeria ought to have at least one female governor, elected democratically, Virginia Ngozi Etiaba, who led Anambra State in 2006 after Governor Peter Obi was impeached by the state legislature for alleged gross misconduct.
