Despite being aware of his vocal ability, Nigerian musician Anthony Victor, better known by his stage name Victony, has explained why he chose not to pursue a career in singing.He stated that he believed singing was a means of escape for “weak people,” which is why he wanted to be a rapper.
The “Soweto” crooner claimed that in 2020, he switched from rapping to singing.
During a recent interview on the Zero Conditions podcast, Victony stated, “I began doing Afrobeats in 2020.” Actually, one of my earliest attempts at Afrobeats was “Soweto.”To be honest, I always knew I could sing; I was simply reluctant to do it. Because I simply felt like that was for weak people. I felt like it was an escape for weak people. “I’ve always admired the enthusiasm of rappers and.Rapper was my dream career.
