Badmus Opetodolapo, a former public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, has detailed the harsh abuse she faced after speaking out against Naira Marley, a Nigerian musician, following the circumstances surrounding singer Mohbad’s murder.

Remember how the police officer, who was well-known for her frequent social media posts, denounced Naira Marley’s lifestyle and his remarks on women’s bodies on her page in 2019?

“Having a big booty is better than having a master’s degree,” Naira Marley tweeted in 2019.

“So having a big body part is now better than having educational or vocational qualifications?” wrote the then-Protective Police Officer of Lagos in response. This still bothers me so much! We must cease putting up with public nuisances and bring some rationality back to our system. It’s mediocre for anyone to support a dead duck who is blatantly delinquent and unproductive but hides behind the mask of creating music—obnoxious music, to be exact.

Younger people should not be misled into thinking that having a nice body component is more significant than having the necessary educational or professional credentials. It’s actually not negotiable! Your bodily portion cannot provide you with a sustainable life; only a strong educational foundation or appropriate career training will do. Follow your intuition! #harddrugdestroys #saynotoharddrugs.

“This instagram police want to have sex with me but she is really ugly,” tweeted Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Music, who had previously signed Mohbad, in retaliation. Mohbad, who had occasionally called out Naira Marley for posing a threat to her life, passed away on Tuesday in a contentious way.

Following Mohbad’s passing, Naira Marley and his partner Sam Larry faced intense criticism after a number of records and videos showing the two harassing the late singer for leaving Marlian’s Records appeared online.

The former Lagos PRO, Opetodolapo, responded to the controversies on her own Instagram page by revealing that she had received backlash in 2019 for speaking out against Naira Marley.

“I beg that I not be tagged; the appropriate authorities are aware of this. I have so many tags on me.

“My heart is with the departed and everything that represents him. When I spoke up against this character and the imminent danger it portrays, I was beaten both inside and out. A danger not curtailed will become hydraheaded.”She penned a letter.
