The sensational singer Khaid, whose real name is Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, has told how, when he was a struggling musician, he asked colleague Rema to show music boss Don Jazzy his freestyle video in an attempt to get signed to Mavin Records.

He claimed to be so desperate that if Rema had helped him close his record contract with Mavin, he would have given Rema his first N1 million, but he never read Rema’s messages.

In the most recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, Khaid—who is currently signed to comedian Sydney Talker’s label, Neville Records—disclosed this information.

“Rema,” he said. Please don’t lose heart if you’re seeing this. One day, I really used my old account to DM Rema on Instagram and sent her freestyle video that he watched. “Bro, I know that you trap like me,” I uttered. Please assist me in showing Don Jazzy this video. Permit him to sign me so that we can share a record label.

“He failed to notice the message. I was texting him at the moment, dude, and I was really feeling everything. I was sending him prayers via SMS. I was prepared to give him my first million dollars.
