Nigerian rapper and singer Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, better known by his stage name Zlatan Ibile, claims that his 2017 joint single “My Body,” featuring Olamide, marked a turning point in his career. He described receiving a poem from the YBNL boss as “life-changing.”
In a recent interview with well-known YouTuber Korty EO, Zlatan talked about how, in spite of early setbacks, he persisted in pleading with Olamide via his social media direct messages in hopes of collaborating.
“Life-changing for me at that time was Olamide giving me a verse,” he stated. I followed him around and begged him for a verse in the direct message. He scheduled meetings for me twice, but they didn’t show up until the third time. I accepted his invitation to his home because I was rapping more.I assumed Olamide and I would be doing a rap song, but instead he launched into a performance of the Afrobeats hit “My Body.” He took that action because he knew it would instantly turn me into a celebrity.
“My story changed when I recorded my verse,” the speaker stated.
