Popular Nigerian musician Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, has described how late artist Mohbad’s fans played a part in his demise.

On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s Marlian Record label, passed away in a contentious way.

Following the social media release of numerous documents and videos showing Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry relentlessly abusing Mohbad for leaving the Record company, the two were suspected of being involved in Mohbad’s untimely demise.

But in his most recent interview on the “Afrobeats Podcast” with UK-based media personality Adesope Olajide, Ruger accused fans of making it more difficult for Mohbad prior to his passing.

He said that the late singer’s followers were not behind him.when he departed from the record company.

“I’m not sure if Mohbad had an issue with the label or not. I would like everyone to know that the fans were just as much of an issue for him as the label.

“Because I don’t think people kept listening to him after he left the label.” He remarked, “It seems like they were just focused on the fact that he was a Marlian.
