How Beenie Man, 2Baba inspired me – Mr Eazi

Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, better known by his stage name Mr Eazi, is a well-known singer and businessman who has shared how he was inspired by dancehall artist Beenie Man and the late Nigerian singer 2BABA, who was then known as 2Face.He claims the words from 2Face’s “Nfana Ibaga” remix, which features Beenie Man, served as the inspiration for his catchphrase, “Zagadat.”
Mr. Eazi clarified that he couldn’t have copyright problems with the slang as he didn’t say in the same manner as it was uttered in the song in an interview with Capital Xtra, UK.
“Big shout out to Beenie Man,” he exclaimed. TwoFace and Beenie Man. My catchphrase, “Zagadat,” originated from their remix of the song “Nfana Ibaga.” extracted from the line “And the Lord said, Let there be light.” Zagazaga za. That’s its origin, my friend.I’m not required to pay them royalties since I uttered “Zagadat.” “Zagagaza za” is not what I said.
