House passes bill on Electoral Act amendment, e-transmission of result

Yesterday, a bill to amend the Electoral Act 2022 was enacted by the House of Representatives in order to guarantee the smooth electronic transfer of election results.

Additionally, a new paragraph (c) is added to Section 28 (1) of the Principal Act, stating that “elections to the offices of the President, National Assembly, State Governors, and State House of Assembly shall be conducted on the same day, subject to paragraph (a) of this section, and without prejudice to other sections of this Act.
