EFCC takes action regarding dollar and naira bill mutilation

In Lagos and Port Harcourt, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken action against those who are mutilating naira and issuing invoices in dollars.

The commission has summoned the owners of private colleges and other higher education institutions that charge fees in dollars for interrogation, according to EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale, who made this announcement yesterday in Abuja.
Oyewale claims that the commission has also established a Special Task Force in each of its zonal commands to enforce the regulations that are now in place prohibiting the dollarization of the economy and the mutilation of currency.
The task force, which was established by the commission’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede, was established, according to Oyawale, to safeguard the economy against mismanagement, leaks, and distortions that could cause instability and disruption. The The commission is dedicated to seeing that all legislation intended to boost the economy are upheld.
