Court Remands Man Over Alleged Murder In Ibadan (DETAILS)

A 44-year-old man, Olumide Monday, has been remanded in a correctional facility by an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged murder. The Magistrate, Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun, did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction. He directed the police to return the case file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. The case has been adjourned till March 27 for mention. According to the prosecutor, Mr. Philip Amusan, the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Feb. 1, at 11:00 a.m, at Iwo road area, Ibadan.

Amusan claimed that Monday unlawfully caused the death of Bala by stabbing him in the buttocks, contravening Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
