According to Nigerian musician Peter Obaje, better known by his stage name Benue Boy, the country’s music industry is currently run by cartels.
He claimed that it is challenging for musicians to be successful in the music business if they are not affiliated with any fraternities.
The assertions were made by the “Ameriya” crooner on the podcast Encounter with Chris J.

Benue Boy stated, “I think people view this modern industry as a cartel kind of thing. That’s one of the challenges I see in the music industry.” That is to say, you cannot go to the next level if you are not a member of a fraternity or club.
