Breaking news: Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has broken his silence on the ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of a N4bn fraud.

In a statement released today, the Governor said: “I have full confidence in the EFCC and their ability to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the matter. We remain committed to the due process of the law and will cooperate fully with the Commission in its investigations.”

He also thanked the people of Ekiti State for their continued support and patience while the matter is being investigated.

“I want to thank the people of Ekiti State for their faith in me during this difficult period. I assure them that the truth will be revealed and that justice will be done,” said Fayemi.

The Governor also noted that the investigation is part of a larger effort to promote transparency and accountability in the governance of Ekiti State.

“As we strive to ensure the highest standards of transparency and accountability in our dealings, we understand the need to investigate all allegations of wrongdoing. We are determined to ensure that all wrongdoers are brought to justice,” he said.

The EFCC is yet to make an official statement on the matter, however, the Governor’s statement today has provided some clarity on the situation.
