BBL frenzy: Quest for beauty, competition drive celebrities into cosmetic surgery

Celebrities are starting to get cosmetic surgery more frequently.
Brazilian Butt Lifting, or BBL as it is commonly known, is the norm in Nigeria.
The BBL pandemic that is roiling Nigeria’s entertainment industry is affecting stars, musicians, actresses, models, socialites, influencers, sketch creators, reality TV personalities, and even transsexual and cross-dressers.
Relationship guru Tonto Dikeh, social media diva Sxxydimma, OAP, Blessing Okoro aka Blessing CEO, cross-dresser Bobrisky, and reality stars Mercy Eke, Oluwabusayomi Abiri, aka Khloe, and Nengi Hampson have all bravely admitted to having Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures.
It should come as no surprise that BBL has influenced every celebrity and lifestyle discussion on Nigerian internet forums.
Two schools have been at the center of the social media discussion around the BBL craze in Nigeria.It is thought that some people have surgery to improve their physical appearance, and that others do not want to be frightened by individuals who have had it done before.
Social internet was buzzing with the latest BBL drama involving well-known transgender Nigerian Daniel Anthony Nsikan, better known by his stage name Jay Boogie.
After he apparently begged for help from the public to pay for a kidney transplant due to problems, Boogie became well-known on social media.
