Laide Bakare, a well-known Nollywood actress, has been named by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as his Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Art, Culture, and Tourism.

The actress was shown receiving her employment letter on Thursday in a widely shared social media video.

In a statement published on her official Facebook page on Thursday, Bakare thanked the governor and said that the appointment marked the start of her political career.

“To Governor Ademola Adeleke Imole Osun, my new boss, I am incredibly grateful for your trust and the chance to work with you. I swear to do my absolute best. So please, God, assist me.

“Every good person in Osun and throughout Nigeria.” I’m truly beginning a new chapter in my political career right now,” she remarked.
