In Zurmi town, the administrative hub of the Zurmi Local Government Area in Zamfara State, armed bandits are said to have attacked the Nigeria Police Force’s divisional headquarters, resulting in the deaths of no fewer than seven individuals.
According to reports that Alabareports was able to collect, the attackers started their attack on Sunday night and tragically lost seven lives, including one of a Nigeria Police Force officer.

Babangida Zurmi, a town resident, verified the occurrence to Channels Television, stating that he hasn’t been able to get in touch with any of his family members since it occurred.

He claimed that the majority of their phone lines were inactive, which made the situation even more upsetting.

“As we speak, all of the people in the town are unreachable because their phones are off.” It implies that the bandits are still present. The appropriate authorities must assist us,” he declared.

Speaking with journalists about the situation, another source stated that the bandits attacked the town in vengeance for the deaths of two people in the area by vigilantes.

The informant further claimed that the police divisional headquarters in Zurmi was totally destroyed and that many stores were set on fire.

It is said that the bandits shot the four people as they were trimming brush along the road.

In a phone discussion with media, Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police, acknowledged the attack on the Divisional headquarters in Zurmi. He also mentioned that he is still gathering further information about the attack.
