According to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, or ASUU, the federal government can handle the remaining problems in a matter of two days.
Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, the president of ASUU, claimed that the administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari is not interested in addressing the union’s requests during an appearance on the Arise TV program.

He blasted Dr. Chris Ngige, the minister of labor, for taking the union to the National Industrial Court (NIC) when President Buhari and other government representatives were negotiating a settlement with the union to end the eight-month strike.

It is evident to all Nigerians that the government has no interest in finding a solution. As I mentioned earlier, these problems can be fixed in a day or two.

But everything is a game to them. Why is the labor minister going to court when the president, who made a return commitment, is interacting with the pro-chancellors?

How can you be sure that you will have the best research and teaching if you make lecturers come to class by force? If the federal government is interested, this issue can be handled in a single day.
