Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police public relations officer, said in a statement on Sunday that detectives from the Obalende Divisional Police headquarters began an intelligence-based investigation on April 28 and arrested the suspect at his hideout in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state.

Despite the ordeal, the police department disclosed that he tried to bribe him with a tally of 1 million but their agent astonishingly rejected it.

Opeyemi said:

“Since then, Murphy Salami, Divisional Police Officer of the Obalende Division, has detailed his detectives to be on his trail in order to arrest him, possibly recover the deceased two legs from him, and prosecute him along with his co-conspirators in crime,” the statement reads.

“On the other hand, luck turned against him when he was captured on April 28, 2023, at his Ijade Iloti hideout. The suspect made an offer of N1 million as a bribe to the policemen right after he was arrested, but it was turned down.

“On interrogation, he confessed to being a member of the syndicate that killed Oyindamola Adeyemi, and that he was the one who severed her two legs, which he claimed he used for ritual purposes.” He also admitted to being the one who killed Oyindamola Adeyemi.
