The management of Delta State University, Abraka, has also instructed the students to promptly return for academic activities, meaning the university has pulled out of the current Academic Staff Union of Universities strike.
It was learned that the decision was made following the DELSU Senate’s 183rd regular meeting, which took place on Wednesday in Abraka.

On Thursday, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Andy Egwunyenga’s official Twitter account released a statement announcing the institution’s return to classes following the Senate meeting.

This is to notify the Delta State University community, especially the staff and undergraduate and graduate students, that the Senate of the university held a lengthy discussion on the approved academic calendar during its 183rd Regular Meeting on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, and made the following decisions:

“that the academic calendar agreed by the university will be rigorously adhered to;

“that all graduate and undergraduate students must report back to campus right once to start classes; and

“those departments and faculties need to make sure that classes start in full.
